The short answer is that cards remain in play during their own destruction. If there’s an effect that happens when a card is destroyed (whether itself or some other card), the card will remain in play until the effect is resolved.

 

For example, if one of Raven's tactics is destroyed (either by playing a new tactic or another effect that would destroy it), the tactic will remain in play until its When this card is destroyed effect is resolved.
